What is the OMSC Rep Soccer Program?

   The rep program at OMSC is for those who wish to play soccer at a competitive level from November to September.  Boys and Girls teams are formed who play against other competitive teams (of the same age) from other towns in our region.

How much travel is involved?

   A typical season consists of approximately 16 league games, of which half are in Orangeville and half “on the road”.  Teams that Orangeville typically play are from Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo (to name a few) and for the most part are usually about one hours’ drive away and held on weeknights.  The Orangeville Teams also play exhibition games and tournaments throughout the season, which also require travel.  Tournaments and exhibition games (at coaches’ discretion) and long distance league games are typically held on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer.4

How often does the team practice?

   As the Orangeville team plays other competitive teams, skill development and team building is essential.  In order to prepare for the upcoming season, most teams will practice once per week at ACTS dome throughout the winter, and usually once per week during the summer at local fields.  Please inquire with the specific coaches to determine the coaches’ plan for the season.

How much will it cost?

   The 2018 Rep fees are: $750

Player Guidelines

Be  punctual to training and games.  Players who arrive late to training must report to the coach immediately and not just jump into training.

Have a high level work ethic.  Give 100% effort 100% of the time.  This includes warm-up, drills and scrimmages.  You must get the proper sleep and nutrition to do this.

Have  respect for one another and your coaches.  Inappropriate language is not tolerated.

Advise the coach of any injuries immediately.

Parent Guidelines

Please get your child to training and games.  Do not be late to collect your child.

Please do not criticize your child’s play or abilities in the sport

Please do not demand too much of your child

Please do not blame or judge your child.

Please support your child’s effort without speaking about specifics of their game or training.  Always focus on the effort and help them feel like a winner.

If you have a concern or complaint, please bring it forward to the team management, and then if unresolved to the OMSC office.

Allow your child to speak to the coach if there is a problem.  This helps to develop accountability within your child, rather than always relying on the parent to speak for them.

Staff and parents must understand a player’s limitations.  Players must feel the support of their authority figures.

Players must be able to work freely in a calm environment.  We are all here to develop your child as an individual.

Equal playing time is not guaranteed for Rep Team players.  The Coach’s decision is final as to the amount of time that a player will receive in a game.

Refunds/Cancellations

   All refund requests before April 1st must be submitted in writing to the office and are subject to a $50 administrative fee.  Any player who requires de-registration will need to contact the office and will incur and additional $10 administrative fee and can either have the club send the de-registration via regular mail or can courier it themselves for processing - this process can 10 up to 10 days to be processed by the Association.

   Players who leave of their own volition from a Rep Team after April 1 will not be allowed to play in the Rep program for the duration of the season.  If space permits on House League and the player wishes to play, they can be assigned to a House League team at the Club’s discretion at no additional cost.  

   They will not be eligible to recover their competitive registration fees except under the following circumstances:

   Should the player suffer a season ending injury (not related to a OMSC program), once we have received a doctors certificate and all equipments have been returned, a pro-rated refund may be issued, based on the date of the doctors note/return of equipment or date of request, whichever is later.  Please note – where the injury is soccer related, no refund can be provided as this would cause the insurance coverage to be negated.  Such requests will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

   All refunds will be issued to the adult/guardian named on the online registration system unless paid by a 3rd party.  In the case of a 3rd party payment the refund will be refunded to the 3rd party. 

NSF Cheques

   Any NSF cheques will be charged a $25 administrative fee.  All replacement cheques must be certified, paid by cash or credit card. 

Uniforms

   OMSC provides each player Rep Uniform package.  It is the expectation of the club that all players will wear all components of this uniform to their games (ie: no shorts other than the soccer shorts provided and the socks that were provided with the uniform).

OSA Registration

   No player will be registered with the OSA until full payment of all registration fees is paid.  Late registrants will be registered and a player book processed as quickly as possible after full payment is received, based on instructions from the Team Coach.  No player can participate until this process is complete.

Used Equipment

   Soccer shoes & uniforms may be dropped off at the soccer office and will be sent to a developing country.  OMSC also has a buy and sell set up on Facebook.
